The hostel is located in a prime spot, just a stone's throw away from the gondola station, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding mountains. The unblocked view of the mountains from the hostel is breathtaking. There is a well-equipped kitchen available for guests to store and cook their own food. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the common room is filled with musical instruments and board games for guests to enjoy.
The noise level in the hostel can be a bit higher than expected due to the older building, so it may be advisable to bring earplugs for a peaceful sleep.

The value for our money was really good at Mountain Hostel. Our room was cozy and had a amazing view of the mountains. The staff treated us like family, making us feel right at home.
One small thing that could make the breakfast option even better is having a wider variety of pastries.

I recently stayed at Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald for a week-long hiking trip. From the picturesque location with stunning mountain views to the cozy mountain house style facilities, everything was perfect. The dining area facing the mountains was breathtaking, especially during breakfast. The informative posters filled with humor added a nice touch. The spacious bathroom and WC cabins were a pleasant surprise. I could go on and on, but I don't want to spoil the other amazing features you'll discover there.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

I had such an very nice stay at Mountain Hostel. The view from the hostel was amazing, and I couldn't get enough of it. The location was perfect for exploring the Swiss Alps and going on lovely hikes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they even recognized that we were from Canada and surprised us with Quebec Maple Syrup. That was such a kind gesture! The beds were comfortable, the washrooms were clean, and the eating area was sociable. I loved the fact that they made pizzas, although I didn't get a chance to try one.
